Ooh la la!

Hello good people:)

We are back from our jaunt to the fabulous Paris, still recovering if truth be told...we pounded the pavements like good uns! We emptied our wallets in many cafes and occasionally in the fine boutiques, twas my birthday after all!
I would recommend the lovely Galeries Lafayette tis not for the faint hearted though, the fashionistas with bulging bags need to be seen to be believed!

We have been to Paris several times before so it was fun to explore new districts and avoid the tourist sights..we could actually hear the birds singing as we walked around the locality of our hotel, a boutique dwelling just off the Place de la Nation:)

Not to far from our hotel was the promenade plantée
Such an amazing way to see some of the city, so quiet and pretty too. It was a stretch of disused railway line, much of it along a viaduct, converted into an elevated walkway giving you a birds eye view of the surrounding city, stretching 4.5km, just amazing.
This graffiti greeted us at the beginning of the walk and further along some amazing views::

On our last day we visited the Pere-lachaise Cemetery one of the worlds largest cemeteries, beautifully atmospheric and so green. Well known as the final resting place of Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison and many more notables. We decided to sit and chill with a drink rather than troop around. The perfect decision for our aching feet!
I would love to give a big thanks to the wonderful ladies at parispastrylab on Etsy who gave me tons of advice for our trip:)
Au revoir mes amis!
